‘DVL’ Cross-Wind detector: first BGS safety plaform application

To ensure high speed trains run under optimum safety conditions, wind speeds need to be monitored on high-speed rail lines so as to adapt train speed accordingly. Our Side Wind Detection system meets this safety requirement.

In 2016, 19 DVLs were deployed on the new Bordeaux-Tours high-speed line. The system is currently in service, detects route wind speed in real time and slows down the train in the event of excessively high winds.
