The DVL crosswind detector is deployed on the Bordeaux Tours high speed line and allows trains to be slowed down in real time in the event of high winds
In an objective of optimal safety, high-speed rail lines require wind monitoring in order to adapt the speed of the trains. The Side Wind Detection system meets this safety requirement.
In 2016, 19 DVLs were deployed on the new Bordeaux-Tours high-speed line. It is currently in service, detects the wind speed on the route in real time and slows down the train in the event of excessive wind speed.
