SCLE supports the MAD’ENERGIE 2022 humanitarian mission in Madagascar
MAD’ENERGIE works to supply water and electricity to isolated schools and health centers (not connected to local grids on the island) by harnessing renewable energy technology and by ensuring local populations are able to maintain the equipment themselves.
Each year MAD’ENERGIE organizes a one-month mission in the field with volunteers.
Actions implemented in 2022 include:
• Completing the installation – started in 2021 – of a solar pumping system on the Antsirabe II Farm-School, an agricultural training center for young people;
• Checking all operating systems on sites installed by MAD’ENERGIE and replacing the oldest batteries;
• Providing training for local technicians to enable them to maintain the equipment themselves.
On November 10, 2022, the solar pumping installation was inaugurated, enabling the Antsirabe II Farm-School to be self sufficient in both drinking water and electricity. For local people this means that they not only have access to an independent source of drinking water and electricity but they are able to maintain this precious and sensitive equipment on their own. And it encourages young people to develop the village and its resources.
The values of MAD’ENERGIE are fully in line with those of SCLE. We share the same team spirit and commitment, as well as a passion for all things technical and the desire to work for the good of all!
