IVS has been SIL 4 certified by Bureau Veritas!
The IVS (Inrailing Verification System) has been SIL 4 certified by Bureau Veritas.
The IVS has been deployed on the B Line of the Rennes metro since July 2021. Ordered by Siemens Mobility for its new automatic metro Cityval, IVS checks that the train is correctly inrailed when it leaves the workshop.
Launched in September 2020, this project covers the specification, design and validation of the IVS system by our R&D team, followed by the production of the equipment (sensors, electrical cabinet, control boxes) by our production team, in compliance with EN50126, EN50128 and EN50129 standards.
As a generic application compliant with railway standards, the IVS system is based on the generic BGS safety platform, to which project-specific sensors have been added.
As the BGS itself is already SIL4 certified, its applications such as IVS (but also DVL and PMGI) can be deployed and parametered, then certified from SIL 0 to SIL 4 via the BGS SIL4 certificate.
As well as the Rennes metro; the IVS is also being deployed on the Siemens Mobility automatic metros of the Bangkok (Thailand) and Frankfurt (Germany) airports.
